In nearly 15 years of practicing family law in both Washington and California, firm principal Virginia A. Leen has developed her own philosophy concerning divorce and its accompanying issues. Primarily, there should not be winners or losers in divorce cases. Rather, both parties generally benefit from reaching a mutually satisfactory result, with minimum cost and emotional trauma, particularly to any children involved. To achieve this goal, we emphasize cooperative problem-solving and rational evaluation of the issues at hand. We often handle cases using a collaborative law approach, and are members of King County Collaborative Law and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).
